Lactose Free Morcilla & Beans

This recipe is super easy and a great way to try spanish morcilla for the first time!


About the Recipe

Don't you hate it when recipes start with someone's entire life story... yeah me too. I'm never gonna do that. If you need help finding lactose free ingredients, please take a look at the database tab.



  • 1 package of Despana Morcilla - Use this link for 10% off your order

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 yellow onion - sliced

  • 1 clove of garlic (minced)

  • 1 15.5 oz can of butter beans (do not drain)

  • 15.5 oz water

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt to taste


  1. Add the olive oil to a hot saucepan with the yellow onion.

  2. Sautee and stir frequently until the onions begin to brown

  3. Add the minced garlic and the morcilla. I recommend cutting the morcilla into 1 inch pieces before adding it. Cook for 3 more minutes

  4. Add the entire can of beans - including the juice. Fill the empty can with water and pour this into the pot as well.

  5. Add the paprika and bring the stew to a boil.

  6. Skim the skum off the surface of the soup using a stew

  7. Simmer on low for 1 hour.

  8. Serve and enjoy!
